CMSI-3751: Game Design

In 2022 I was asked to take over CMSI-3751 at Loyola Marymount University by my former professor. Hilariously on ask, I couldn't remember taking the class, but my transcript does say I took Game Design a decade ago when he offered it.

My version of the class is project focused where students develop an entire game (analog or digital) over the course of the semester. Throughout their journey, I help with every stage: ideation, pitching, research, prototyping, documentation, playtesting, construction and presentation. My class is small, with an emphasis on peer-to-peer and peer-to-professor interaction.

I like to think of my class as an indie accelerator with an emphasis on portfolio ready work. Students leave CMSI-3751 with a cool game that they loved developing, and the potential to turn it into a great portfolio piece, or potentially release it.
